Scribe Building Compliance was established in 2014 in response to a growing demand for a Building Surveying company that understood the requirements of architects, designers, builders and property owners and would work with clients and assist them through the private certification process. We are able to provide our clients with project specific advice and personalised certification and compliance services to streamline the process of obtaining Local Authority approval for your project.
A key focus for Scribe Building Compliance is to assist clients by providing clear, accurate advice and information to ensure our clients and their projects meet their statutory and regulatory obligations under the Building Act whilst also being acutely aware of the implications compliance requirements have on design, time, cost and delivery of a project.

I Need a Bushfire Assessment or an Exemption Letter
We can identify whether or not your site is located in a designated bushfire prone area or if there are relevant exemptions that will impact on the Bushfire Attack Level Rating given to your property/structure.

Step 2 Please confirm your Site Address and we will undertake a desktop review to confirm your site requirements We will provide you with a quote to undertake Bushfire Attack Level Assessment and Certificate
Typical Pricing for Metropolitan (including Hills) Bushfire Assessment $550 + GST plus travel time
If you live in a Regional Area let us arrange a quote for your Bushfire Assesment
Step 3 Site Inspection undertaken by our accredited Level 1 BAL Assessor.
Step 4 Consultation with yourself regarding the nominated BAL Rating and advice regarding how this will affect the construction of your building. In some instances we can provide advice on how to reduce your BAL rating by managing the surrounding vegetation.

I Need a Certification
I have been told I need a Certification but I don’t know what that means.

I have an Unauthorised Building
Have you been made aware that you have an unauthorised building on your property?
If you been contacted by your Local Authority regarding an Unauthorised Building please contact us before responding to the Council.
You will require a Certificate of Building Compliance (if you would like more information about this Certificate please review the information in the link below)
We recommend a Preliminary Inspection to establish the extent of works required Cost $147/hour including travelling time. Allow for 1 to 1.5 hours for residential Building in the metro area. We can provide a quote for regional inspections.
Once we have undertaken an Inspection we can provide you with a quote to provide the above Certificate depending on the structure and the available information, this may include extra documentation and certifications from other consultants ie Strucutral Engineer
I Need an Occupancy Permit
Has your building been completed and you are ready to move in?
Council will require an Occupancy Permit (An Occupancy Permit is evidence that the building or portion of building has been lawfully built and is safe to occupy for the use stated on the permit)
We recommend that you call and speak with our Building Surveyor so we can co-ordinate with your builder prior to completion.
